GP Training

We are a long-established training practice and Dr Saeed is an accredited GP Trainer.

We are currently involved in training of FY2 and ST Doctors who have some experience of hospital work. They are based at the surgery for periods of 4 months. ST Doctors in their final year of training remain at the surgery for 12 months.

We are now also have medical students from the University of Southampton attending placements at the surgery.  They may be observing the GP or nurse you see.  You can ask for the medical student to leave the room if you would prefer but observing GPs consult provides an excellent learning opportunity for them.

The role in the training and assessment of doctors can include GP’s having a trainee with them during your consultation. Videoing some of these consultations can form an important part of their training and you may be asked if you are willing to participate.
