Disabled Facilities
Wheelchair access is available via a ramp at the rear of Lightwater Surgery, with double doors leading into the building. We have a dedicated disabled parking space at the rear together with a push bell should assistance be required to enter the surgery. A handrail is also present at both the front and back of the building.
A hearing induction loop is fitted in the reception area for those with hearing difficulties.
Freedom Of Information
The Freedom Of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a Publication Scheme which is a guide to the classes of information the practice intends to routinely make available. This can be obtained from reception.
Practice Computer
Patients medical records are now computerised and all are strictly confidential. All computer records are protected under the Data Protection Act.
Information in your health record is kept in strict confidence at all times and only disclosed to others for the purposes related to your health care, (except when you have given your express permission).
GP Training
We are a long-established training practice. We are currently involved in training FY2 doctors, who have some experience of hospital work They are based at the surgery for periods of 4 months.
The role in the training and assessment of doctors can include GPs having a trainee with them during your consultation. Videoing some of these consultations can form an important part of their training and you may be asked if you are willing to participate.
